"The Compass" First Annual Compass Conference Funded and managed by The City Wire and presented by Benefit Bank, The Compass is a quarterly regional economic report with data collection and analysis handled by Jeff Collins, a nationally known economist based in Springdale and co-founder of Streetsmart Data Services. CHRISTMAS HONORS, a new initiative of the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce On Saturday, December 12, 2009 citizens of the Greater Fort Smith Region are invited to help honor the servicemen and women of our community, who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Family, friends and volunteers will transform the Fort Smith National Cemetery by placing one wreath on each of the 12,000 headstones in their honor.

Chamber welcomes elected officials to January First Friday The Chamber is welcoming state elected officials from across the Greater Fort Smith Region at its January 9 First Friday Breakfast to provide a legislative update and preview of the 2009 legislative session.

Labor & Delivery Nurse Manager Receives Patriot Award Debbie Bader, St. Edward Mercy Labor & Delivery nurse manager, earned a Patriot Award from The Arkansas Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, in recognition for her extraordinary support of her employees who serve in the Arkansas National Guard and Reserves. Bader was nominated by St. Edward Mercy clinical nurse manager, Captain Kim Sosebee.

Smith Nissan Awarded Top Accolades for Team Work Smith Nissan recently took home 12 prestigious DMA Awards, including three Gold Level distinctions, making them the number one ranked Nissan Dealer for these awards in their district. The dealership was honored with the awards from Nissan North America, Inc.’s Central Region.
