The U.S. Census Bureau
has now released the first local area data from the 2007 Economic
Census. The data are for states, counties, cities and metro
areas in ten states in the West and New England, and include retail trade, accommodations, and rental
and leasing sectors, among others.
When will data be published for
Arkansas? Remaining
local area data will be published, state by state and sector by sector, across
the next eight months, with everything to be complete in August
2010. We can't project exact publication dates, but what we can do
is send you an e-mail as soon as the data become available.
Sign up today for our Notify Me
service at http://www.census.gov/econ/census07/www/notifyme/states.php. Select
each sector for the states you are interested in, or check off just the sectors
that interest you-as many or as few as you want. We will send you an
e-mail every time one or more of your state/sector selections
appears. Each e-mail will include urls so that you can go straight
to the data.
The economic census
provides comprehensive industry, geographic, and product detail about U.S.
businesses every 5 years. It is the only source of data on sales or receipts
by industry for local areas nationwide.
